KDG Engineering LLC (KDG) was founded in 2009 and provides professional structural and civil engineering services. Our firm’s primary service is in the field of structural design - bridge design, minor structure design, and bridge inspections. We also provide services in the areas of project management, roadway design, site civil engineering, and construction management and administration. Our founder, Stan Kobayashi, PE, has more than 47 years of experience in the management and design of structural, civil, and transportation projects. KDG is a certified DBE, ESB, MWBE, EBE, and SBE firm. We are also prequalified by CDOT for Bridge Inspection, Bridge Design, Civil Engineering, Highway and Street Design, Engineering Management (Contract Administration), Engineering Management (Construction), and Structural Engineering.

Empowering Communities Through Engineering Excellence
In 2009, Stan Kobayashi, decided it was time to “build another bridge” after 33 years in bridge, structural, and civil engineering. Instead of working for others, he decided it was time to start his own company. With the idea of keeping the firm small, responsive, and focused on bridges and structures, he started the Kobayashi Design Group, LLC (dba KDG Engineering LLC). He wanted the firm to be based on a few guiding principles. We seek to develop our personnel and focus on good work and communication. We are dedicated to our clients, employees, and our community. We see to prosper others before we can prosper. Every year, KDG works to empower the youth of Denver through different programs and time donations. We contribute to the Asian and Pacific Islander youth awards and are proud members of the NAAAP (National Association of Asian American Professionals). Additionally, KDG takes on an internship from John F. Kennedy High School, which is interested in STEM, every year through the Career Launch program.
Key Staff:
Our team has been growing this past year with the introduction of a new Associate Principal Engineer and injected with the youth of a bright graduate of Colorado School of Mines. KDG has managed to emerge on the opposite side of Covid with our best team yet, ready to meet the modern challenges of our industry. Our team has graduate degrees specializing in Structural Analysis and Bridges with the skillset required to tackle complex designs.
